My Department consider that the provision of roundabouts at Moneenagesha Cross and Cemetery Cross should have a high priority. Road grant commitments totalling £400,000, which were notified to Galway Corporation since 1983 in respect of inner city routes, are available to finance the roundabouts.
The detailed planning and timing of the work are primarily a matter for the road authority. While engineering proposals for the work have not been received in the Department, I understand that the corporation is negotiating for the acquisition of properties affected by their proposals.
