It is estimated that there were approximately 1,400 admissions to hospital due to tuberculosis in 1982, the latest year for which figures are available. The number of cases of tuberculosis notified during the years 1979-83 were as follows: 1979, 1,099; 1890, 1,152; 1981, 1,019; 1982, 975; 1983, 924. Figures are not yet available for 1984.
