It is assumed that the Deputy is confining his question to those suppliers who applied to join the scheme. The number of applicants for the cessation scheme who had ceased milk production prior to the announcement of the scheme is about 870. The number who were successful is 740. Of the remainder, some withdrew their applications and the others were not drawn in the selection ballots.
