Limerick East): The assembly of the information of the volume and type sought by the Deputy would involve a disproportionate amount of staff time which could not be justified. Some information relevant to the Deputy's question is contained in the annual reports on prisons and places of detention. Copies of these reports for the years 1970 to 1983 are available in the Dáil library. The 1984 report will be published in due course.
