asked the Minister for Finance the present position of the Nanny River drainage scheme in County Meath on the priority list; if he is aware of the continuing very serious annual flooding problem in Duleek housing estates as a result; and if he will put this scheme on top of the priority list now that the Board of Works at Trim, County Meath, has ceased doing this type of work.
Written Answers. - Meath River Drainage.
I am aware that flooding occurs in the Nanny catchment. The Nanny is number 14 on the priority list of minor catchments. At this stage I cannot say when the question of the drainage of this river might be reached. I have no plans at present to amend the priority lists. The Deputy will be aware that policy on arterial drainage is under review.

When construction works on the Boyne catchment drainage scheme are completed a small number of skilled and experienced workers may be transferred to the Monaghan/Blackwater catchment drainage scheme. Approximately 58 others will be retained for maintenance work on the completed Boyne scheme and the remainder will be made redundant. It is expected that all works on the Boyne catchment drainage scheme will be completed in January 1986 and only routine maintenance works will be carried out after that date.
