Written Answers. - County Kildare School.

233.

asked the Minister for Education when all planning and design processes will be cleared in relation to Rathcoffey national school, County Kildare; and when the project will be allowed to go to tender.

234.

asked the Minister for Education (a) the current position with regard to the proposed extension to Rathcoffey national school, County Kildare; and (b) the number of planning stages still to be undertaken prior to going to contract in relation to the said school.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 233 and 234 together.

The chairman of the board of management of Rathcoffey national school, County Kildare, has been authorised to engage his own architect to undertake the planning of the proposed extension to the school. It will be necessary to brief the architect, when appointed, in connection with the preparation and submission of a sketch plan. The project must go through the following further stages before the question of inviting tenders can arise; approval of sketch scheme including costings, agreement on the local contribution and preparation of contract documents.
