A special occupational analysis of the live register is carried out quarterly in respect of the last Friday of March, June, September and December. This analysis provides the only information available in respect of the employment qualifications of persons on the live register. The following table gives an occupational analysis of persons on the live register at Galway city employment exchange on 30 September 1983, 28 September 1984 and 27 September 1985 classified by sex.
