Vol. 361 No. 11

Written Answers. - Tralee Office Block.

19.

asked the Minister for Finance if a new office block will be erected in Tralee, County Kerry, next year to accommodate Civil Service employees, and, if so, the reason so much money is being spent on repairing Agriculture House, Oakpark, Tralee.

Work is well advanced on the preparation of contract documents for a new Government office block at Caherina, Tralee, to centralise staffs of the Revenue Commissioners, Department of Agriculture, Department of Justice, Department of Labour and Department of the Environment. It is expected that a contract will be placed early next year and the building will take approximately two years to complete. In the meantime, it was necessary to carry out works at Oakpark to relieve overcrowding among Department of Agriculture staff in the premises generally and to bring conditions up to a proper standard to comply with fire and safety regulations.
