asked the Minister for Finance if he will request the Revenue Commissioners to make a tax rebate to a person (details supplied) in County Galway who has been awaiting a rebate since he was made redundant on 5 July 1985.
Written Answers. - Tax Rebate.
I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that since ceasing employment on 5 July 1985, the taxpayer has submitted to the inspector of taxes two claims for repayment of income tax on the grounds of unemployment. The claims have been dealt with. A cheque in settlement of the initial claim was issued to the taxpayer on 1 October 1985, and a cheque in respect of the second claim will be issued as soon as possible. If the taxpayer is still unemployed he should now submit a further repayment claim to the inspector. The inspector wrote to the taxpayer on 8 November 1985, for the details required to enable his final liability for 1984-85 to be determined. On receipt of the outstanding information any refund found to be due for that year will be made.
