Vol. 362 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

62.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £2,000 grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

A £2,000 grant is payable in respect of a house built otherwise than by contract only where the house was not substantially completed by 1 May 1985. My Department's inspector has certified that a £1,000 grant should be paid in this case and payment was made accordingly on 14 November 1985.

63.

asked the Minister for the Environment the position with regard to a grant application for a £1,000 grant from a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

There is no record in my Department of an application for a new house grant from the person named. An application has, however, been received from a person with the same Christian name, a broadly similar surname and the same address. In that case a new house grant is not payable because the floor area of the house is in excess of the maximum allowable for grant purposes, i.e. 125 sq. m. (1,346 sq. ft.).

64.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to pay a mortgage interest subsidy to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The second instalment of the mortgage amounting to £800 was paid recently to the person named.

65.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a reconstruction grant under the old scheme has not been sanctioned for a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

There is no record of the receipt in my Department of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named.

66.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a mortgage subsidy payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

An instalment of the mortgage subsidy (£250) will be paid as soon as possible.
