Written Answers. - SFADCo Training Schemes.
It is assumed that the Deputy's question refers specifically to training schemes initiated by SFADCo.
I am informed by SFADCo that, in line with their role in developing small indigenous industry, the company have pioneered a number of training schemes some of which, having been tested and found successful, have been applied by other State agencies who have national remits. These training schemes have aimed at improving the expertise of prospective and existing entrepreneurs in areas such as business management, marketing and finance. They have contributed generally to the development of indigenous small industry not only in the area in which SFADCo operate but throughout the country generally.
Specific details of numbers participating in, and costs in relation to, schemes operated by SFADCo are given for the last five full years, 1980-84, in the tabular statement below:
