asked the Minister for the Environment the reason the total amount of the first portion of a grant due by his Department to the trustees of the mid-Galway water supply scheme has not been paid to date, the total amount of money that will be paid; the date on which payment will be made, and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Grants totalling £56.000 have been paid to this group to-date on the basis of expenditure incurred on the scheme as certified by my Department's inspector. In addition, Galway County Council have been requested by my Department to pay to the group an instalment of £62,000 from the special contribution approved for the scheme.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

This grant has now been paid.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house is complete and occupied and complies with all the conditions of the scheme. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.
