asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry the rights, if any, an organisation (details supplied) have on any land in County Galway under his control; the terms of these rights, and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Shooting rights over State forest lands and lands owned by the Land Commission have been let to the organisation in question. Details are set out in the schedule beneath:

Shooting rights available for letting are advertised on a regular basis and let by public competition. Successful lessees are entitled to the exclusive right to shoot and to enter on the designated lands for the purpose of exercising or preserving these rights. They are also entitled to initiate prosecutions against anyone else attempting to usurp the rights.
