Vol. 362 No. 13

Written Answers. - Tralee Hospital.

71.

asked the Minister for Health if he will make haemodialysis services available to Tralee General Hospital and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The question of providing a haemodialysis service at Tralee General Hospital is a matter for consideration, in the first instance, by the Southern Health Board. In any such consideration the health board must seek to measure the relative need for such a service, having regard to facilities which have been established but are still unopened and to other demands for the provision of new services. The health board have not submitted any proposals to my Department for the development of a haemodialysis service in Tralee.
