Vol. 362 No. 14

Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

35.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reasons the full amount of £1,800 improvement grant has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; if he will pay the balance of this grant immediately; the reasons that it has not been paid heretofore; the date on which payment will be made; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The application related to the provision of a water supply, sewerage facilities, a bathroom, an extra bedroom and necessary works to the fabric of the house. The application in respect of the provision of a water supply had to be rejected as, contrary to a condition of the scheme, the applicant was a member of a group water scheme. Grants totalling £1,600 which represented the maximum amount allowable have been paid in respect of the balance of the works.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a mortgage subsidy has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; the date on which payment will be made; the total amount of money to be paid; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The second instalment of the mortgage subsidy has not been paid as the appropriate claim form duly completed and certified by the lending agency has not been received in my Department. The maximum amount payable in respect of the second instalment of the subsidy is £800.
