asked the Minister for the Environment (1) the domestic rate support grant paid to each county council in 1985 and the estimated payment to each county council in 1986; (2) the amount of supplementary welfare allowances applicable to each county council in 1985 and the amount provided in this respect in the 1985 estimate of expenses of each county council; (3) the amount of domestic rate subsidy adjustment provided in each county council's estimate of expenses in 1985; (4) the amount of the grant in lieu of rates on land paid to each county council in 1985 and the estimated payment to each county council in 1986; (5) in respect of each county council, the percentage which the domestic rate support grant represented of net rates income in 1985; and (6) in respect of each county council, the percentage which the grant in lieu of rates on land represented of net rates income in 1985.

1. Net rates income is taken to be the amount of rates leviable for 1985 on commercial/industrial property etc. and the figures are taken from local authorities estimates for 1985.

2. Details of the amount or supplementary welfare allowances applicable to each county council area are not available in my Department.
