The full year cost, estimated by reference to the position for the current income tax year, of increasing the child tax allowance to £400 is estimated at £89 million. The yield to the Exchequer from the abolition of the child tax allowances, including the additional allowance for incapacitated children, is estimated at about £30 million in a full year.
