Vol. 363 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

350.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reasons the complete guidance premiums for a person (details supplied) in County Galway have not been paid despite the fact that he entered the scheme and met the targets; if he will now direct that all these premiums be paid immediately; the total amount of money paid to date; the balance to be paid and the date on which this payment will be made; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Guidance premia are paid only while the applicant is in the development category. The person mentioned was in the development category from 13 August 1982 to 25 September 1983. Consequently he was entitled to only one instalment of the guidance premium. An amount of £1.292 which was paid to him in October 1984 represents his full entitlement under the scheme. There is therefore no grant outstanding.

351.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason payment of a grant approved in 1983 for sheds, haysheds, a cattle crush and concrete yard has not been paid to persons (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

No application for grant-aid was received from the persons mentioned and therefore no grant was approved.

352.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when headage payments which are due for 1983 and 1984 will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The person named is not eligible under the 1983, 1984 and 1985 beef cow schemes in the disadvantaged area as his off-farm income exceeded the limit for each of those years. He is also ineligible under the EC suckler cow premium schemes for 1983, 1984 and 1985 as his off-farm earnings exceeded his on-farm income for each of those years.
