Vol. 363 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hospital Services Report.

37.

asked the Minister for Health the sections of the 1980 working party report on hospital services in South-East Dublin which have been implemented to date.

Considerable progress has been made in relation to the implementation of the recommendations of the Working Party on the organisation of general hospital services in the South-East Dublin and East Wicklow area. For instance planning is proceeding on the development of both St. Vincent's and St. Michael's Hospitals as recommended. I have made provision in my Department's capital programme for the construction of new theatres, out-patient department and upgrading of the accident and emergency department at St. Columcille's, Loughlinstown Hospital and the consultant medical staffing of that hospital has now been placed on a firm footing with recent appointments in surgery, medicine, radiology and anaesthetics.
