Vol. 363 No. 10

Written Answers. - Tallaght (Dublin) Enterprise Centre.

28.

asked the Minister for Industry, Trade, Commerce and Tourism if he will make a statement on the present state of development of the enterprise centre at Tallaght, County Dublin, and his plans for further development of the centre.

I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that it purchased half of the building in which the enterprise centre is located. The remaining part of the building is being promoted by a private developer for non-manufacturing projects.

The IDA have refurbished their section of the building amounting to some 28,000 square feet and will provide in it up to 17 factory units ranging in size from 550 square feet to 3,400 square feet. To date four small units of 350 square feet each have been completed and are now available for suitable projects. It is expected that the remaining space, in various factory sizes, will be completed by March 1986.

The management committee of the centre will continue to promote the centre with a view to securing suitable tenants therefor and the creation of employment therein, thus ensuring that the centre makes a worthwhile contribution to the economic life of Tallaght.
