Vol. 363 No. 13

Written Answers. - County Kildare School Extensions.

222.

asked the Minister for Education the current position with regard to the provision of extension and extra facilities at St. Wolstan's post-primary school, Celbridge, County Kildare.

Architectural planning of the proposed extension to St. Wolstan's school is proceeding. The outline sketch scheme proposed by the school authorities has been under examination in my Department and a meeting has been arranged between the Department and the consulting architect to discuss various points arising from the examination of the scheme.

223.

asked the Minister for Education the current position with regard to the provision of phase two of the extension to Maynooth post-primary school, County Kildare; the means whereby it is proposed to facilitate the students seeking admission to this school in 1986, 1987 and 1988; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A recent examination by my Department of the post-primary school accommodation requirements of the Maynooth area indicates that provision of phase two of the vocational school, Maynooth, is not required at this time. Primary School leavers in the area can be catered for in Maynooth vocational school and in Celbridge where there is spare accommodation.
