The information requestion by the Deputy is available in my Department only in so far as it relates to specific dates during the years in question and these data are set out in a tabular statement which I propose to circulate in the Official Report.
The figures for 1983 are not available on a health board basis yet and are awaiting finalisation of the 1983 children in care survey. I have also included in the table details of children taken into care during the course of 1982, the latest year for which such details are currently available. It is hoped to have similar details for 1983 sometime next month as part of the results of the 1983 children in care survey. I will arrange to have a copy of these results sent to the Deputy as soon as they have been collated. The 1984 survey will be ready later this year.
