As already announced, I have dispensed with the need for prior inspection in the case of all valid applications for grants received in my Department on or before 25 February 1986 where first inspections had not been carried out by that date. If the person named has made a valid application he will be sent a letter of approval by my Department by 10 March 1986. The work involved should not be commenced before the receipt of that letter and will, of course be subject to the requirements applicable (other than the prior inspection requirement) when the person concerned applied for the grant.
