My role in the reallocation of flexi-milk by co-operatives in 1984-85 was confined to laying down the general guidelines under which the distribution took place. These arrangements were set out in a notice published by the Department in the national newspapers on 17 November 1984.
Reallocation of flexi-milk is only relevant in the case of purchasers who exceed their quotas, as for those under quota there is no need for any such reallocation because none of their suppliers would be liable for any levy payment.
The quantity of flexi-milk available for reallocation by those purchasers who exceeded their quotas in 1984-85 was approximately 24 million gallons. The names of these purchasers are:
