Vol. 364 No. 10

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

66.

Mr. Coughlan

asked the Minister for the Environment when payment of a new house grant will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and all the conditions applying to the grant scheme have been fulfilled. The inspection will be carried out within the next few weeks.

67.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in the payment of a £5,000 surrender grant to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

There has been no undue delay in the payment of the grant in this case. Certification for payment was recently received in the Department from the local authority and the grant will be paid shortly.

68.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a reconstruction grant has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.

There is no record of the receipt in the Department of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named. However, an application was received from a person with the same address but a different Christian name, who is now understood to be deceased. Payment to the person referred to by the Deputy of the grants approved will be subject to the receipt by the Department of confirmation that she is successor in title to the deceased applicant. The necessary evidence has been requested from the person concerned.
