Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

314.

asked the Minister for Labour if he has received an application from Kilrush GAA County Clare, for a capital grant; and when the application will be sanctioned.

I have received an application for capital grant assistance from Kilrush Shamrocks GAA club. That application, together with other applications for assistance in 1986 under my Department's capital grant scheme, is still under consideration. I hope to be in a position to reach a decision at an early date.

asked the Minister for Labour the number of applications he has received for capital grants in the sporting and recreational area from clubs and associations in County Clare this year; the names and details of the schemes; and when decisions will be made on these applications.

The following applications for capital grant assistance in 1986 were received from community and sporting groups in County Clare:

Labasheeda Community Centre Committee

—development of old church as community centre

Kilrush Shamrocks GAA club

—construction of complex to include dressing rooms, showers, meeting room and social centre

Inagh GAA club

—construction of dressing rooms and handball court

Third Clare CBSI, Clarecastle

—provision of scout den

First and fourth Clare Troops CBSI, Ennis

—refurbishment of building

Applications received for assistance in 1986 under my Department's capital grant scheme are still under consideration. I will ensure that all applications are processed as quickly as possible.
