A special unit has been established in my Department to deal with aquaculture. In addition there have been recent discussions between my Department and the Departments of the Environment and Industry and Commerce with a view to resolving difficulties in the designation of areas for aquaculture development. I am confident that as a result of these measures the licensing procedures for aquaculture projects will be expedited.
