Vol. 365 No. 4

Written Answers. - Implementation of Departmental Document.

23.

asked the Minister for Health the health boards, if any, which have submitted to him their detailed plans of how and in what way and by what timetable they plan to implement his Department's document of March 1985, Planning for the Future, whether and to what extent health boards consulted with voluntary and professional organisations within their jurisdiction about detailed plans; and if he will publish these detailed plans.

All the health boards have submitted plans for the implementation of the recommendations of the report Planning for the Future. In general these submissions have given the broad outline plans. These are now being refined into detailed plans to show the resources of various kinds which will be needed in each sector. This in turn will enable timescales to be worked out for each area and will establish the items on which consultations may be necessary.

The outline plans have been approved by the health boards, and published to that extent. The Deputy will understand, however, that the detailed plans will cover well over 100 sectors and it is not intended to publish them in a formal manner.
