Vol. 365 No. 6

Written Answers. - Meath National Monuments Allocation.

36.

asked the Minister for Finance the amount of the £3.2 million, which is estimated will be spent on national monuments in 1986, being spent in County Meath and the monuments in County Meath in respect of which this finance is allocated in page 29, heading J Revised Estimates 1986.

National monuments in State care in County Meath are maintained by the Office of Public Works staff at the Trim depot. This depot covers ten counties including County Meath and a sum of £370,000 has been allocated from subhead J.1 for all works to be undertaken by it in 1986. There are 51 monuments/groups of monuments in County Meath and routine maintenance works will be carried out at each during 1986. It is not practicable to forecast expenditure on routine maintenance works on a county basis.
