Vol. 365 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers.

I had a Private Notice Question down for the last two days to ask the Minister for Energy if he would direct the ESB to have Tarbert Generating Station brought to full production as it is now cheaper to generate electricity by oil rather than coal.

You are aware of the reasons for disallowing it, but if you wish to raise it on the Adjournment——

I was rather surprised that the Minister for Energy did not take this question.

It was not up to the Minister to decide whether he would take it. The Chair decided that it was not of sufficient importance.

I should like to raise it on the Adjournment.

I will communicate with the Deputy. Ceist 1.

The Minister is on his way. Under the new system we answer our own questions and perhaps the House would not mind if we moved on to Question No. 2.

(Limerick West): We are always ready to oblige.

We know that, thank you very much.
