I am aware that a number of satellite aerials (antennae) have been purchased privately by individuals but I have no precise information as to the number involved.
The question of licensing or deregulating the possession and use of apparatus of this nature is being considered and an announcement will be made in the near future.
People who may be contemplating acquiring such equipment would be well advised to check thoroughly whether they are likely to continue to have access to the various satellite programme services, given the declared intention of a number of the operators to encrypt their signals.
