My Department is not in a position to supply the information in the form requested since local authorities may carry out certain works of a capital nature in which there would be no direct involvement by my Department in the specific projects concerned. In addition, many projects form part of continuing works programmes. They may not, therefore, be relatable to particular years or locations, but may be spread over several years and over different parts of the relevant local authority's area. Other projects may be carried out under devolution arrangements in force from time to time and applicable to certain types or sizes of projects; in many such cases particulars of the actual projects undertaken would not be known to the Department. To assist the Deputy, however, I have arranged to have details compiled of the capital allocations made to Cork County Council and Cork Corporation under the various programmes for each of the years 1981-85, inclusive, and these will be included in the Official Report.
