Grant aid of 30 per cent of approved costs (35 per cent in disadvantaged areas) is available for silage slabs to participants in the farm improvement programme. A straight cash grant of a fixed amount would be inappropriate having regard to variations in the size of silage slabs related to the fodder requirements of the farm.
