Vol. 366 No. 2

Business of Dáil.

My Private Notice Question was disallowed and I should like permission to raise on the Adjournment the question of people travelling from this country to East European countries this weekend and the health risk that will be imposed on them as a result of the nuclear accident at Chernobyl.

I will communicate with the Deputy.

On what grounds was my question disallowed? It is important and urgent. I am talking about this weekend, the day after tomorrow.

The Deputy should resume his seat. I am trying to get on with Question Time.

It is my view that I was treated unfairly this morning.

That is an improper remark to make.

It is not my wish that it should be an improper remark.

In that event the Deputy should withdraw it.

We differ on this.

The Deputy was told that if he submitted a question it would be considered.

There is radiation all over Europe and Irish people are planning to travel there.

The Deputy should withdraw the remark and resume his seat. I must move on to Question Time.

My remark about what?

The allegation that the Chair was unfair.

I am not implying anything like that. I do not think things should be hurried through so quickly.

The Deputy has intruded almost five minutes into the time for Question Time.

I have been on my feet for one minute and no more. That is a gross exaggeration.
