Vol. 366 No. 6

Written Answers - Redundancy Payments.

100.

asked the Minister for Labour when persons (details supplied) in County Wexford will be paid minimum notice payments in relation to their former employment arising out of an award by the Employment Appeals Tribunal; the reason for the delay in these payments; and if he will ensure that the matter is expedited.

The receiver of the company concerned has informed my Department that in January 1986 he forwarded the appropriate application forms for payment from the Redundancy and Employers' Insolvency Fund of minimum notice awards to the employees. These applications were not received in my Department, but duplicate forms were received on 2 May last. Payment in respect of minimum notice awards to a number of former employees, including the three employees concerned, was issued to the receiver for reimbursement on 12 May.
