Farmers in the new and reclassified less severely and more severely handicapped areas will be eligible under the 1986 disadvantaged areas headage schemes. Sheep farmers in these areas have already applied for headage grants while cattle and beef cow farmers will be given the opportunity to do so in three weeks time.
