Vol. 366 No. 10

Written Answers. - Cork Detention Centre.

15.

asked the Minister for Justice if he plans to go ahead with the proposals for a place of detention for young male offenders at Rathmore Road, Cork, for which £1.4 million has already been paid for professional fees.

Design of this project was well advanced when financial restraints interrupted work and further progress is dependent on the extent to which it may be possible to make financial resources available. However, as was indicated by my predecessor in a detailed written reply on 6 June 1985 to Deputy Michael O'Kennedy, it may be necessary to have a fresh look at it at that stage.
