Vol. 367 No. 1

Written Answers. - Farm Improvement Programme.

152.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will confirm that farmers in the designated sheep headage payments areas will receive the same level of grants as those in the more severely handicapped areas for farm development, land drainage and may also benefit from the reduced rate of EC dairy co-responsibility levy.

Participants in the farm improvement programme who are in the designated mountain sheep grazing lands will receive the same level of grant for farm buildings, fixed assets, land improvement and mobile equipment (slurry tankers) as farmers in other disadvantaged areas.

Farmers in these mountain sheep grazing lands also benefit from the reduced rate of co-responsibility levy on milk sold by them.
