Mr. Cowen

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for an inspector to call to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly who made an application for a home improvement grant and received a letter telling him to go ahead with the work.

Notification has issued to this applicant authorising him to proceed with the work in respect of which his application was made subject to the conditions of the scheme (other than the prior inspection requirement) applicable when he applied for the grant. However, in view of the information supplied by the Deputy an inspection will now be arranged.

Mr. Coughlan

asked the Minister for the Environment when payment of a new house grant will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and all the conditions applying to the grant scheme have been fulfilled. The inspection will be carried out within the next few weeks.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to pay a home improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to pay a mortgage interest subsidy to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The first instalment of the mortgage subsidy was paid recently.
