The person in question was employed on a temporary basis for work on national monuments projects in the Sligo district. He commenced employment with the Office of Public Works on the 3 February 1984 and was made redundant on the 16 January 1986. As he had service of less than two years, he was given one week's notice as prescribed for under the Minimum Notice and Terms of Employment Act, 1973. Accordingly, he does not have the necessary service for entitlement to a redundancy payment.
