Limerick East): International financial services is one of the 11 service industries designated by ministerial order for the purposes of eligibility for employment grants. These grants are in addition to the normal range of fixed assets, R and D, training and feasibility study grants available to service industries.
In addition, the extension of the 10 per cent of corporation tax in the 1984 Finance Act to certain computer services is of major potential benefit to the international financial services sector within the country.
The industrial development agencies are actively promoting this country as a location for international financial services industries and I understand that they are at present in discussion with a number of potential promoters.
