The provisional income of the Social Insurance Fund for 1985 is £1,234 million made up of £589 million (48 per cent) contributed by employers and £284 million (23 per cent) contributed by employees. The payment by the Exchequer to the fund for the year is £359 million (29 per cent) and £2 million of the fund's income is derived from other sources.
