Vol. 368 No. 2

Written Answers. - Domestic Industry Grants Scheme.

115.

asked the Minister for Labour when an outstanding ESF/AnCO grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; and if he will ensure that payment will be made within the next week or two as the company concerned has to pay interest on loans for the amount in question.

The company in question was a participant in the domestic industry grants scheme operated by AnCO on behalf of the IDA in 1984 and 1985. Funding for the scheme is provided jointly by the IDA and the European Social Fund. The IDA portion of the grant is paid by AnCO and this has already been done.

With regard to the ESF element, payment is not made by AnCO until the necessary funds are received from the European Commission. Companies are made aware of these arrangements when agreeing to participate in the scheme. Unfortunately, there is no indication at this stage when the moneys in question are likely to be received from the Commission.
