(Limerick West) asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason the milk quota which was attached to 20 acres of land which was allocated by the Land Commission in 1983 to a person (details Supplied) in County Limerick was not given to him; if he will now ensure that the milk quota will be allocated as it should under the regulations; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The quota involved has been allocated to the previous occupier of the land. This allocation is in accordance with the super levy regulations which provide that where land is transferred or sold to a public authority the quota attached to the land can be retained by the departing producer provided he intends to continue milk production.
