Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Community College.

7.

asked the Minister for Education if he will make a statement with regard to the community college at Corduff, Blanchardstown, stating his views on a meeting in the Department one year ago with Sister Eileen Randall of Archbishop's House where his Department guaranteed that if the school was not complete by September 1986, pre-fabs would be put in to house children; and his views on a recent meeting with the Vocational Education Committee and Archbishop's House where the local parents were informed that a principal teacher was to be appointed immediately, that there would be enrolment shortly afterwards and that the guarantee which had been given a year before was not being honoured; if he will investigate this matter urgently; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The new community college at Corduff will be opened next September in temporary accommodation which will be provided on the site of the local primary school. The new school building will be ready for occupation in September 1987. A principal has been appointed for the school and the enrolment of pupils and other arrangements necessary to ensure the opening of the school next September are in train.
