asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in processing the application of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 3 for a home improvement grant; and if the application is to be approved.

A certificate of approval to a maximum grant of £800 for the replacement of defective windows issued to the applicant several weeks ago.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant inspection will take place for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

My Department was notified recently that the house was ready for inspection. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.

An inspection will be carried out within a few weeks with a view to the approval of a grant.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will make payment of a house improvement grant for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford on the basis of whatever work is already carried out.

Grant approval amounting to £2,860 relating to repair works to a pre-1940 dwelling was issued on 4 March 1986. Grants are not paid in instalments and in any case a grant in respect of repair works cannot be paid until all repairs considered by the Department to be necessary to the house are carried out. On receipt of notification of completion of works an inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of the grant approved.

58.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will now arrange for the outcome of the inspectors examination of a house of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12 for a home improvement grant to be communicated to her as she is anxious to know the precise grant entitlement, so that the work can commence.

Grants totalling £2,229 have been approved in this case subject to the submission of the necessary by-law approval for the work.
