Written Answers. - Road Accident Statistics.

123.

124.

asked the Minister for the Environment the number of cyclists who have been (a) killed this year and (b) injured in the metropolitan area of Dublin and the rest of the country; and how this figure compares with last year for the same period.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 123 and 124 together. No detailed breakdown of road accident statistics for 1985 or 1986 is available to date.

Information of the kind sought in the Deputy's question in respect of the year 1985 will be contained in the annual Foras Forbartha report entitled "Road Accidents Facts". I understand from the Foras that the report will be published within the next six weeks. A copy of the report will be available in the Dáil Library as soon as it is published.
