Vol. 369 No. 3

Written Answers. - Young Homeless People.

134.

asked the Minister for Health if he is concerned about the number of young homeless people in the city of Dublin; the plans he has to ensure that facilities are provided for their proper care; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am indeed concerned about the problems facing young homeless people in Dublin. The Eastern Health Board, who have the primary responsibility in this area, have recently prepared and submitted to my Department an overall policy document outlining the range of desirable services which the board consider necessary to deal with the problems. Officers of my Department are meeting on 30 inst. With officials of the Eastern Health Board to discuss their new policy document. The purpose of the meeting is to examine the possibility of implementing the proposals contained in the document.
