1. I am informed that 178 multinational companies are now participating in the National Linkage Programme.
2. The latest information available to me on indigenous manufacturing input comes from an IDA survey based on a sample of 400 companies and shows the proportion of raw materials manufactured in Ireland for all sectors of manufacturing industry in 1985 to be 49 per cent. It must be stressed that these figures are provisional, based as they are on a survey carried out in early 1986. The next survey to be carried out in 1987 will provide detailed 1985 results and preliminary figures for 1986.
