(Limerick West) asked the Minister for Agriculture in view of the very adverse situation in the farming industry, if he will indicate the anticipated outturn as regards levels of farm incomes in 1986; and how the anticipated 1986 outturn compares with farm income levels in the years 1980 to 1985.

It is still too early to make an accurate prediction as to the outturn for farm output and income in 1986. However, I would draw attention to a recent paper by An Foras Talúntais which predicted no change in nominal farm incomes this year and an increase of 3 per cent in per capita incomes in real terms.
The outturn for farm output and income in the years 1980 to 1985 is published in the Irish Statistical Bulletin, September 1986 by the Central Statistics Office.
